Taboo first opened its doors in 1989 in Eastbourne’s bustling Arndale Centre. Well renowned locally, the shop premises has changed throughout the years, but the original concept and owner Neil’s ethos has always remained the same; to source the highest quality, hand-crafted sterling silver jewellery with a distinctive edge that you won’t see elsewhere.

Neil Lamprell, the innovative founder of Taboo, built the company from humble beginnings to one of the most highly regarded silver jewellery specialists in East Sussex. In fact, Taboo was one of the first shops in the local area to specialise in silver jewellery alone.

Neil began personally importing his own range of silver jewellery from Mexico more than 35 years ago, and to this day, Neil and his daughter, Hannah, still make annual trips abroad to hand source the new and upcoming collections, ensuring the very best quality products.
